Wearing a headset that measures concentration, this third-person shooter requires aim and focus
Farmstead is a game that I made for a research project in early 2022. It is a standard third-person shooter on PC that uses the NextMind device, a headset that measures the wearer's focus. It allows for the control of digital interfaces in real time. I integrated this technology with Unity to design a game in which players must manage their focus to be able to shoot their weapon effectively.
In combination with my Psychology of Play course, I investigated performance and experience of a shooter using the NextMind device.
Below is both the paper I published and a link to the game (which will not run as intended without the proper device).
